JOY OF LEARNING
Appetite for learning is natural and especially
evident in bright children.
This joy is partly responsible for the march of
history and explosion of knowledge. It’s a good
thing. It helps propel a young mind on its path
towards productive maturity.
The joy can be reduced, however, by tedious,
repetitive instruction. When school for six or
seven hours a day walks gifted students through easy
material over and over again the fun can be lost.

Without joy learning is reduced. A bright child may
be stultified by tedium for the better part of each
day and sent home exhausted from boredom.
We
should help our children maintain the natural joy of
learning.
